How the enterprise license works

Self-serve checkout via Stripe — billed annually, renews automatically, cancel anytime from your Stripe portal.

1

Checkout via Stripe

Click Purchase License. Stripe hosts the payment page — card or invoice billing, annual recurring at $5,000 USD.

2

No license key to manage

Compliance is tied directly to your Stripe subscription — as long as your payments are current, you're licensed. No key to generate, embed, rotate, or audit. One less moving part in your deployment.

3

Annual renewal

Stripe handles renewal automatically. Manage your subscription, update billing details, or cancel anytime via the Stripe customer portal — links included in every invoice.

4

Source audit access

Need to audit the server source for security or compliance? Audit access is arranged manually under a mutual NDA — email contact@schipper.io and we'll coordinate.

Need a custom invoice, ACH/wire payment, or multi-year terms? Email contact@schipper.io.

Common questions

What counts as "non-commercial" or "under $10M revenue"?

If your organization's annual gross revenue is below $10,000,000 USD, you can use the IonStream server for any purpose — including production commercial workloads — at no cost. The threshold is on company revenue, not on IonStream itself.

Are client libraries ever paid?

No. Every official client SDK (.NET, Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Rust, Java) is MIT-licensed and free for any use, forever — regardless of your company size or the server license you hold.

What does the enterprise license include?

Unlimited nodes, unlimited topics and partitions, audit access to server source for security/compliance review, and the right to use IonStream commercially at any company size. Service-provider terms (resale/hosting) are available — contact us for details.

Can I host IonStream as a managed service for other companies?

No — the standard enterprise license covers internal use only. Offering IonStream as a hosted or managed service to third parties (the way AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers offer managed Kafka, Redis, etc.) requires a separate service-provider license. This applies whether the offering is branded as IonStream or a derivative product. Email contact@schipper.io to discuss terms — pricing is negotiated based on offering scope.

Can I cancel?

Yes — cancel anytime from the Stripe customer portal. Your enterprise features remain active until the end of the paid period. There's no minimum term and no cancellation fee.

Do you offer per-seat or per-node pricing?

No. One flat annual fee per organization. We don't believe in punishing teams for scaling their infrastructure.
