SCHIPPER.IO LLC is a small, independent studio building developer infrastructure with a focus on performance, operational simplicity, and long-term ownership.
Most infrastructure software is over-engineered for organizations that don't run it and under-built for the teams that do. Schipper.io builds the alternative: focused tools that one engineer can read, one team can operate, and one binary can deploy — without sacrificing the correctness guarantees that production work demands.
If it can't be deployed as a self-contained native binary, it's not done. No agents, no sidecars, no daemons-to-manage-the-daemons.
Distributed systems primitives are designed in from day one, not retrofitted after the first multi-node incident.
We measure allocations, GC pressure, and throughput. Performance is a feature; regressions are bugs.
Clients are MIT and free for any use. Server binaries are free for non-commercial and smaller-company use; full server source is audit-available to paid enterprise licensees.
Schipper.io is privately held. No VC clock, no exit pressure — products are maintained on a timeline measured in years.
Docs describe what the software actually does, including the failure modes. No marketing graphs of theoretical throughput.
SCHIPPER.IO LLC is founded and operated by Christopher Schipper, a career enterprise software engineer with a focus on .NET, distributed systems, and developer experience. The studio currently ships IonStream, with additional products in development.
